On a warm evening in September, board members, stakeholders, staff, and valued partners of Colorado River Land Trust celebrated the launch of the nonprofit’s rebrand with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the Big Easy Ranch in Columbus, TX.

Texas is growing and maintaining and protecting the integrity of our great state’s most valuable resources is critical.

“To achieve our goals to protect land while there is still time, we need to inspire and recruit the next generation of Texans who will proudly support and protect what makes our state so special—Texan land, waterways, and traditions,” states Jeff Crosby, Executive Director, Colorado River land Trust.

“There was a time when the vast majority of Texas land was part of a farm, ranch, or forest. But Texas is losing its open country faster than any other state in the nation—especially within the Colorado River watershed. Conservation simply can’t wait,” Crosby continued. “It is up to the people of Texas to maintain the Texas lifestyle we know and are proud of by protecting our home.”

The rebrand focuses on one core truth—the land unites us all—and that we have to earn the right to the landscape and its traditions, and that all comes with working together to conserve the land that unites us.
